Holiday Writing: An Intense Rugby Game

This morning I went to Papatoetoe for my little cousin’s (Diego) rugby game. I went with my other 2 little cousins (Dre and Sani) my Aunt (Karissa) and my Grandpa. I was quite excited because I always enjoy watching Diego play. After the trainings and warm-ups the game finally started. I also suddenly felt a string of more excitement run through my body.

Gladly within the first 7 - 10 minutes Diego scored a try! I started cheering as if i’ve never cheered before. This was the best parts of the game, watching Diego succeed and score tries. After the first half our team (Varsity) was winning against Papatoetoe Panthers. Suddenly during the second half the Papatoetoe Panthers starting scoring tries, like they were in the All Blacks. The Varsity supporters starting panicking a bit, and the Papatoetoe supporters starting seeing hope. I wasn’t panicking at all actually, because I knew that the Varsity team would win.

Soon enough the full time whistle was blown and the Varsity team had won 8 - 6. It was a very enjoyable and exciting game and I was glad that I got to go!
