My Fishing Trip

Today I went fishing with my Dad and my Grandpa. I went on a Boat to the Coromandel and it was awesome!! I felt so excited and when I was on the boat I could feel the breeze race past my face!! We went to a few places for fish and guess what..... I caught the biggest fish on the boat!!

This was my first time fishing and I caught a Travali that was 8 and a half pounds! My Dad and Grandpa were very proud of me and I caught 3 other snappers, but they were still little. So now we are going to use my Travali for a nice Raw Fish. I love going fishing and I hope next time I will get the chance to go!!

The Life Caravan!!

The bell rang and Room 6 rushed to the back of the School Building, for the Life Caravan!!

On a lovely Tuesday morning Room 6 hurried to the back of the School buildings so that we could go to the Life Caravan!! Our teacher Mrs Middleton was also with us. As we waited fr the door to open it finally did. Then there was a lady with blonde hair and her name was Lynn. She was our teacher for the sessions. She was really fun and she taught us a lot abut having a healthy system.

Anyways after waiting for Room 6 to gather and settle down, Lynn finally began. The Life Caravan was so cool!! There were pictures everywhere about your body and about keeping it healthy. I enjoyed it so much.

When everybody was settled down we got started. The first thing we talked about was about the foods that we put in our mouth. From this I learnt that we have watch what we put in our Mouth. We also watched a video about this.

The next thing we talked about was the nutrients. For this activity we got into group of 4 and we got 1 nutrient each. The nutrients were Fibre, Carbohydrates, Minerals, Protein, Fats and Water. We also had to explain to the whole class about the Nutrient that we had. From this lesson I learnt about what all of these nutrients do to our body and what their job is to do in our body.

Our third lesson was actually a game. This game was called, ‘Pictionary.’ How to play this game was that we had to get into groups of 4. Then we had to number each other. 1, 2, 3 and 4. After this Lynn will call a number and if it’s your number then you will have to go up and Lynn will give you a picture to draw so that your group can figure it out. The first group to figure it out  was the winner.

In this game the words were, time, money, work, past experiences, friends, family and media. In this game I learnt that all the words help you in life in general.

The next lesson was learning about the Food Pyramid. We learnt about the things that we eat a little bit. This was like treats and fast foods. We were allowed to eat it sometimes but not everyday. Things that we eat a little bit more. This is like meat, then there were things that we eat a lot. This is Fruits, Vegetables, Pasta, Rice and other food like that. From this lesson I learnt that nutrients are in Fruits and Vegetables a lot.

The fourth thing we did was doing a little game. We had to name some healthy foods while doing a little dance. This was fun and made me laugh.

This was the last thing that we did and it was time to say bye to Lynn, but we were coming back tomorrow which was great. We all said goodbye to Lynn and lined up outside the Caravan. I felt very happy about this because I learnt a lot from this. My highlight of the day was when we were learning about the Food Pyramid because I think that from this I learnt a lot.
I can’t wait to go back tomorrow!!
