Summer Learning Journey: Week 1, Day 5, Activity 1

Activity 1: Think about all of the books that you have read this year and recommend one for Curious Kiwi to read. On your blog list the title and author of the book and then provide a short description of it. What is the book about?

The book that I would recommend is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. It was written by J.K Rowling and published in 1997. The book is based around Harry Potter and his life. Harry Potter lives with his Aunty, Uncle and Cousin Dudley. But they all mistreat him. Harry has always known that he is different. One day a giant named Hagrid comes to tell him that he is a wizard and explains about the Wizarding World. Harry starts his first year at Hogwarts Witchcraft & Wizardry, where he makes friends and enemies. But also discovers something, that he has never known about himself.

  1. Hi Alecia,

It's really interesting to read that you would recommend a Harry Potter book. Aronui is currently reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (with my help) and he loves it! He finds the whole idea of wizards and witchcraft really fascinating. I think that it would be pretty amazing to have the ability to perform magical acts. If you could have the ability to do one magical thing, what would it be? I think that I would like to be able to fly. What about you?

    All the best,
    Rachel :)
